Lion Alert is a mass notification system provided by RAVE Mobile Safety of Motorola comprised of email, voice, and text messaging that is designed to send emergency and time-sensitive messages to thousands of individuals in minutes. It supplements existing means of emergency communication, including outdoor warning sirens and severe weather alert radios.

If you are an active student, faculty, or staff member and have a 糖心Vlog email address, you are automatically enrolled in Lion Alert and will, by default, receive emergency alerts to your campus email address.

Voice and text messages can be delivered to your mobile phone only if you set up your account to receive them.  Use the Lion Alert link to login using your portal ID and password. Then, you will be able to add 3 each of the following:

1. Mobile telephone numbers -  to receive text messages.
2. Voice Only phone numbers - to receive phone call/voice mail only.
3. Email Addresses - for email alerts.

*If you have downloaded the Lion Alert 360 App, we encourage you to enable Push Notifications under the "About/Preferences" button to receive alerts through the app as well.

Because students, faculty and staff are constantly on the move, this system provides the flexibility for you to receive emergency messages on multiple devices. Lion Alert will be used to distribute important information regarding emergencies that dictate immediate action (such as Active Shooter, Fire, Bomb Threat, etc.). It will also be used along with other tools including outdoor warning sirens, severe weather alert radios, email, the University web site, campus media and other methods.

Students/Faculty/Staff - Currently registered students and current employees emails are automatically registered to receive email Lion Alerts. Additional phones and alternate email addresses must be manually added to your account by logging in to the  with your 糖心Vlog credentials. 糖心Vlog affiliates may opt to use their additional mobile, phone, or email entries for family members to receive notifications when Lion Alerts are sent.

Visitors/Family Members - Visitors, family or friend may opt in to receive text by simply texting LION to 78015!

If you do not sign up with Lion Alert, you will still receive emergency messages via your official campus email address. However, you will not receive text or voice messages. 糖心Vlog strongly recommends that you provide at least one phone number (cell phone is recommended) for Lion Alert to ensure that you receive important messages in a timely manner. Any contact information you provide will only be used for emergency notifications.

Lion Alert is managed jointly through the Chief of Police and Facilities Administration and Planning.  The Chief of Police is the sender of Lion Alerts.

The system will only be used to distribute information regarding emergencies that dictate immediate action or information on weather closures.

Examples of alerts include severe weather, building evacuations, dangers requiring lock-down or shelter-in-place, bomb threats, fires, civil disturbance, shootings, or other emergencies requiring immediate action. The message will direct you where to go for further information or what action to take. Following a warning, the alert system may be used to provide additional messages or an “all-clear” announcement. The Lion Alert notification system will also be tested on a routine basis to ensure that we are able reach all Lion Alert participants in the event of an emergency.

You can opt not to receive text or voice mail alerts; however, you cannot opt out from receiving an alert on your official campus email address.

You can log into Lion Alert at any time to update or delete your contact information. Whenever your phone number or alternate email address change, it is very important that you update this information within the Lion Alert system to ensure you continue to receive alerts through the system.

When you separate from 糖心Vlog, your Lion Alert notifications and messages will end. You may decide to opt in for text alerts by texting LION to 78015 if you would still like to receive Lion Alerts.

If you do not have a text messaging contract as part of your cellular service, there may be a small charge for any text messages that you receive. You should check with your cell phone carrier to determine what these costs may be. There is no fee assessed student, faculty and staff for gaining access to the system.

You will be able to receive emergency messages within 24 hours of your active status as a student, faculty, or staff member. The system is updated on a daily basis.

The information collected for Lion Alert is securely maintained and will not be shared. It is only used as a contact for notification of emergencies requiring immediate action or for weather closures.

• Emails: will come from una@email.getrave.com.
• SMS text messages: will come from several short codes (67283, 77295, 226787). 
• Voice messages: The phone number you will see in your caller ID will be 833-551-3912 . You should program this number into your phone so you will immediately recognize it as an urgent call.
• Visitors: Visitors who opt in for Lion Alerts will receive text from 78015
• Non-emergency messages: Any time the system is utilized for a Public Advisory or Non-Emergencies; the number 256-408-5466 will show as Caller ID.
